Dr. Matthew Morrison

Senior Sustainability Specialist

Dr. Matthew Morrison is a senior sustainability specialist in SABIC’s Corporate Sustainability Department, focused on both Americas regional issues and global trends. Since joining Corporate Sustainability in late 2013, he has worked on a broad range of issues including corporate reporting, sustainability metrics development, portfolio sustainability assessment, sustainable chemistry, product innovation, circular economy strategy and certification. Matt joined SABIC in 2011, as a regulatory affairs specialist in the global Product Stewardship team. Prior to SABIC, Matt worked as a research scientist and team lead, at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Office of Research and Development in Cincinnati, OH. At the USEPA his research included watershed management, and collaborative work with cities and NGOs to improve urban stormwater management practices using green infrastructure. Matt earned his doctorate at Yale University’s School of Forestry and Environmental Studies.

This session looks at how material suppliers are exploring the possibility of vertical integration by adding a recycling component to their traditional virgin material supply chains. This session examines the commitments chemical companies are making and the partnerships they have embarked on to assist them in reaching their goals to expand portfolios and offer commercial grades of recycled resins.
