Brian Walther

Functional Polymer Platform Leader

After earning his Ph. D. in Chemistry from the University of Tennessee, Brian Walther joined Dow in a polymer synthesis research role.  After holding a number of development and customer focused roles, Brian currently leads Dow’s Functional Polymer platform.  A central component of this platform is the development of high performance polymers that enable effective compatibilization and thus recyclability of many of the currently non-recyclable package formats.  A notable success of this platform was the development of the RETAIN recycle compatibilizer technology used by the How2Recycle labeling program.
